What it is

Mistral Vibe is Mistral AI's assistant. It was called Le Chat until 28 May 2026, when Mistral merged it with its Vibe coding agent under one brand and subscription. It now has a Work mode (chat and multi-step tasks across your apps) and a Code mode (CLI, VS Code, JetBrains and web). Existing Le Chat accounts, plans and conversations moved across automatically.

Models inside

Mistral's own frontier models for text and voice (Voxtral) plus Black Forest Labs' Flux for images. There is no picker for OpenAI, Anthropic or Google models.

Pricing and rights

As of September 2026: Free ($0) with limited messages and web searches, image generation, Studio and $10/month of API credits. Pro costs $14.99/month with higher limits, full Vibe coding access and $15/month of API credits; students get about 60% off. Team is $24.99 per user per month with up to 30 GB storage per user. Enterprise is custom. Mistral's consumer terms state that you own all output; the one restriction is that image outputs may not be used to train a competing image-generation product.

Who it is for

European teams that want an EU-based provider, and budget-minded users who want chat, images and connectors for less than $15 a month. It also suits developers who want one subscription for chat and coding.

Verdict

Mistral Vibe is good value and clear on output ownership, with MCP and connectors built in. Since the rebrand it leans toward work and coding agents, and creators get only images, not video or audio.
