What it is

n8n-MCP is a community open-source server by Romuald Czlonkowski that helps AI assistants build n8n workflows correctly. It ships detailed documentation and schemas for n8n's nodes and templates, and with an n8n API key it can create, validate, deploy and test workflows on your own instance. It is not made by n8n GmbH.

How to install

Self-host with npx n8n-mcp, Docker or Railway, then add it to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Windsurf, Codex or Antigravity. A hosted option at dashboard.n8n-mcp.com has a free tier of 100 calls a day. The README warns never to let AI edit production workflows directly: copy them and test in a development environment first.

Pricing and rights

The server is MIT-licensed and free to self-host. n8n itself is free to self-host (Community Edition) or costs from €20 per month on n8n Cloud Starter. Paid hosted n8n-MCP tiers were not checked.
