What it is

Zapier MCP is Zapier's official hosted server. It lets an AI assistant find and run actions across Zapier's 9,000+ connected apps (for example, post to a CMS, send a newsletter draft, add a row to a sheet or upload to a drive) without building a Zap first. The zapier/zapier-mcp repo is the official plugin distribution for clients.

How to install

Set up a server at mcp.zapier.com and pick your apps. Then connect a client: VS Code uses https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect (type http); Claude Code installs it from the zapier/marketplace or anthropics/claude-plugins-official plugin marketplaces; Gemini CLI uses gemini extensions install https://github.com/zapier/zapier-mcp. Claude and ChatGPT can add it as a connector.

Pricing and rights

Zapier MCP is included in all Zapier plans and each tool call uses 2 tasks from your quota. As of September 2026 the Free plan has 100 tasks a month (about 50 MCP calls); Professional costs $29.99 per month billed monthly or $19.99 billed annually.

Creators and marketers who want an assistant to push finished content into the rest of their stack, and teams already on Zapier.

Verdict

Unmatched app coverage and very easy setup make it the default automation bridge. Two tasks per call makes the free plan small, and heavy agent use can get expensive.
