Runway Gen-4.5 🧠 Model Freemium

What it is

Gen-4.5 is Runway's in-house video model. It launched in December 2025, and at launch Runway reported that it topped the Artificial Analysis text-to-video leaderboard. A later update added native audio and long-form multi-shot generation: clips up to a minute with consistent characters, dialogue and background sound. The model sits next to Aleph 2.0 (Runway's video-to-video editor) and third-party models inside the Runway app.

Mainly the Runway app and Runway API. Gen-4.5 is also listed as a partner model in Adobe Firefly Boards and in Krea. ComfyUI has Runway partner nodes, and Freepik lists an older Runway Gen-3.

Pricing and rights

Runway's app charges 12 credits per second for Gen-4.5. The Free plan gives 125 one-time credits and watermarked exports. Standard costs $15 a month ($12 billed yearly) for 625 credits, about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5. Pro is $35 and Max is $95. Paid plans remove the watermark and cover commercial use. The API price reported for Gen-4.5 is about $0.12 per second.

Who it is for

Filmmakers, agencies and editors who want one tool for generating and finishing shots, and who value control and editing more than the lowest price per clip.

Verdict

Gen-4.5 is a high-quality model inside the most complete AI video editor on the market. Credits go fast: a Standard plan buys less than a minute of Gen-4.5 video a month. Outside Runway, Firefly and Krea, you rarely find it.
