What it is

Adobe Premiere (formerly Premiere Pro) is Adobe's professional non-linear video editor for Windows and macOS, part of Creative Cloud, with a mobile companion app. It is used for films, TV, YouTube and agency work, and Adobe has added generative AI directly into the timeline, powered by its Firefly models and partner models.

Models inside

Adobe says you can generate with Adobe Firefly models or partner models including Google Veo, Kling, Runway and Luma from inside Premiere. The wider Firefly app offers more than 30 models, but Adobe does not list them all as available in Premiere.

Pricing and rights

Premiere single app: $22.99/month on an annual plan billed monthly, with 100 GB storage, Adobe Express Premium and 25 generative credits a month. Creative Cloud Pro, with 20+ apps and 4,000 monthly generative credits, is $69.99/month (new-subscriber promotions exist). Premiere for Teams is $37.99 per licence per month. There is a 7-day trial (14 days for teams) and no free plan. Adobe presents Firefly models as designed to be commercially safe; partner-model outputs follow the terms Adobe shows for each model. Only 25 credits come with the single-app plan, so regular generative use in practice needs Creative Cloud Pro or extra credits.

Who it is for

Professional and semi-professional editors, agencies and studios already in the Adobe ecosystem who want AI help without leaving the NLE.

Verdict

Premiere is still an industry-standard editor, and Generative Extend is a practical AI feature for real edits. It costs more than consumer tools, needs a subscription, and the single-app plan includes very few generative credits, so partner models realistically mean paying for Creative Cloud Pro.
