What it is
Filmora is Wondershare's consumer video editor for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It sits between phone apps and pro editors: a simple timeline with lots of effects and templates, plus a large set of AI tools that run on a credit system, including text-to-video and image-to-video with third-party models.

Wondershare's pages say Filmora's AI Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video use Google Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.0 (Sora 2 is still listed, but OpenAI retired it on 24 September 2026), that Normal Mode 2.0 runs on Kling 2.5, and that Filmora Mobile includes Nano Banana Pro templates. Model use is charged in Filmora AI credits.
Pricing and rights
The free version has all the basic editing tools, but exports carry a Filmora watermark. Wondershare shows a monthly plan at $19.99. Annual plans (US store, Windows, often discounted) include Basic at about $49.99/year with watermark-free export but no AI credits, and Advanced at about $59.99/year with 1,000 AI credits a month and 10 GB cloud storage. A perpetual licence costs $79.99 once, with 1,000 one-time AI credits and updates only within the current major version. Prices change often with promotions and differ between Windows, Mac and cross-platform plans. Paid plans remove the watermark; heavy AI use needs extra credits.
Who it is for
Hobbyists, YouTubers and small businesses who want an easier editor than Premiere or Resolve, with AI tools and templates built in.
Verdict
Filmora is approachable and its model menu is current. The pricing is confusing (many plans, frequent discounts, AI credits separate from the editor licence), the free version watermarks every export, and the perpetual licence does not include future major versions.
