About Eleven v3
What it is
ElevenLabs' speech models power its voiceover, dubbing and audiobook tools. The flagship, Eleven v3, reached general availability in February 2026 after an alpha in mid-2025. The lineup around it: v3 Conversational for real-time agents (about 280 ms), Multilingual v2 for steady long-form narration, and Flash v2.5 for low-latency bulk work (about 75 ms). ElevenLabs' CLI made v3 the default model in September 2026.
Key features
- Inline audio tags such as [whispers], [laughs] and [excited] to direct delivery
- 70+ languages on v3. Multilingual v2 covers 29 and Flash v2.5 covers 32
- Up to 5,000 characters per v3 request (about 5 minutes). Flash accepts 40,000
- Instant and Professional voice cloning, plus a large community voice library
- Multi-speaker dialogue and Scribe v2 speech-to-text in the same platform
Where you can use it
ElevenLabs' own app and API (text to speech, Studio, dubbing, agents). ElevenLabs voices are a documented partner model in Adobe Firefly and appear among the audio models in Luma's app. Many other creator tools connect ElevenLabs through its API. We list only the integrations we could confirm.
Pricing and rights
The ElevenLabs Free plan gives 10,000 credits a month with no commercial licence. Starter costs $6 a month and adds a commercial licence and instant voice cloning. Creator costs $22 a month (first month $11) and adds Professional Voice Cloning. Pro costs $99. Yearly billing gives two months free. Only clone voices you own or have permission to use.
Who it is for
YouTubers, audiobook narrators, course makers, game studios and dubbing teams who need expressive voices in many languages.
Verdict
Eleven v3 sets the pace for expressive TTS, and the platform around it is mature. Credits go fast on long-form projects, v3's 5,000-character limit means splitting long scripts, and commercial use starts on the paid plans.
Pros
- Very expressive delivery with audio tags
- 70+ languages on v3
- Voice cloning from $6/month
- Mature API and editor
Cons
- Free plan has no commercial licence
- Credits burn quickly on long projects
- 5,000-character cap per v3 request
