What it is

Notion AI is the AI layer inside Notion, the docs, wiki and database workspace. It drafts and edits pages, fills database properties, translates, summarises meeting notes and, through Notion Agent, carries out multi-step tasks across your workspace and connected apps. Content teams use it to plan editorial calendars, write briefs and draft posts where the rest of their work already sits.

Models inside

Notion lets you pick a model or leave it on Auto. Its help centre lists Claude (including Claude Fable 5.1 on Business and Enterprise, and Claude Sonnet 5), the newest GPT models, Gemini and Grok. Premium models use Notion credits and must be enabled by an admin.

Pricing and rights

As of September 2026, Notion AI is included in the Business plan ($20 per member per month billed annually) and Enterprise (custom, with zero data retention at LLM providers). Free and Plus ($10 per member) get a limited trial of AI responses. Custom Agents are free to trial, then $10 per 1,000 monthly credits. Monthly-billing prices were not shown on the pages read. The pages read do not address ownership of AI output; check Notion's terms before relying on it commercially.

Teams that already plan and write in Notion and want AI with access to their docs, databases and connected tools.

Verdict

Notion AI is strongest when your content workflow lives in Notion, with good model choice, agents and MCP support. Requiring the Business plan for full access and extra credits for premium models make it costly for individuals.
