Lex is a minimalist online word processor with AI built in. You write in a clean editor and ask Lex for feedback, title ideas or help continuing a paragraph. It is designed around keeping the writer in charge: the AI mostly critiques and suggests rather than generating whole articles.

Pricing and rights
As of September 2026, the Lex pricing page describes Lex Pro (premium AI models, early access to new features, the iOS app and priority support) and an optional Lex Teams subscription for unlimited group folders, but it does not show prices; third-party reviews cite about $18/month for Pro. Sharing and collaborating on documents is free, and Lex offers a refund if you don't like it after a month. Lex says your data is hosted on its own database and that model providers are used via enterprise APIs; the page does not describe output ownership.

Essayists, newsletter writers, bloggers and authors who want a calm writing space with an AI editor, not an AI that writes for them.
