What it is

Suno is a US AI music app that writes and sings full songs, with lyrics, vocals and instruments, from a text prompt, your own lyrics, or an uploaded audio clip. Suno Studio on the top plan adds a DAW-style editor with MIDI and effects. After settling with Warner Music Group in November 2025, Suno rebuilt the service around licensed models and metered downloads.

Models inside

Suno runs only its own models. The v6 family launched on 9 September 2026 and replaced all earlier models: v6 and v6-wild for paid plans, and v6-mini for everyone. Suno says v6 is trained with music licensed from Warner Music Group and other partners.

Pricing and rights

As of September 2026 the free plan gives 50 credits a day, uses v6-mini only, and is for personal, non-commercial use. Help pages say Suno keeps ownership of songs made on the free plan. Pro costs $8/month (2,500 credits, 20 downloads a month) and Premier $24/month (10,000 credits, 60 downloads). Both include commercial use and ownership of songs made while you're subscribed. Download caps began on 3 September 2026: a song can only be released commercially after a download is spent on it, free accounts get 7 lifetime downloads, and Suno may watermark or fingerprint files. Subscribing later doesn't turn earlier free songs into commercial ones. Annual billing saves 20%. UMG and Sony filed a new copyright suit against Suno on 18 September 2026.
