What it is

AIVA (Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist) is a Luxembourg-based AI composer that writes instrumental music, from orchestral and cinematic to pop, ambient and game scores. It's built for editing: you can change tempo, key, instruments and structure, and export MIDI to finish the piece in your own DAW.

Pricing and rights

Prices are in euros. As of September 2026 the free plan allows 3 downloads a month of tracks up to 3 minutes. It's non-commercial, you must credit AIVA, and AIVA owns the copyright. Standard is €11/month billed yearly (about €15 billed monthly), with 15 downloads, tracks up to 5 minutes and monetisation on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram. AIVA still owns the copyright on Standard. Pro is €33/month billed yearly, with 300 downloads, WAV and tracks up to 5:30. Pro is the only plan where you own the copyright, so it's the one to choose if you want to sell or distribute the music.

Who it is for

Game developers, filmmakers, YouTubers and composers who want editable instrumental scores and MIDI, not finished vocal songs.

Verdict

AIVA is one of the few AI music tools that gives you real MIDI and note-level editing, and its copyright terms are spelled out clearly. The catch is that only the €33 Pro plan gives you ownership. Standard covers platform monetisation only, and there are no vocals.
