As of September 2026, every plan starts with a free trial without a credit card. Hobby & Student costs $10/month (about $5/month yearly) with 225,000 credits a month. Professional costs $22/month (about $11/month yearly) with 450,000 credits and the feedback feature. Max costs $44/month (about $22/month yearly) with 2,000,000 credits and 12-month credit rollover. Sudowrite states it claims no rights over anything you put in or anything it generates, so you can publish and sell your books.

Who it is for

Novelists, short-story writers and screenwriters who want AI help on the page while keeping control of the story, especially genre authors writing at volume. It is less useful for non-fiction or marketing copy, where general assistants offer more for the money.

Verdict

Sudowrite is the most fiction-specific AI tool here, with clear ownership terms and a strong Story Bible workflow. Credits go quickly on long drafts, and you still need to revise heavily for the output to read like your own voice.
