Async is the new name of Podcastle, which rebranded on 28 January 2026. It's a browser studio for recording, editing and repurposing podcasts and videos, now expanded into a single AI content platform with voice generation, video, image, music and avatar generation. Async says existing Podcastle accounts, projects and billing carried over unchanged. podcastle.ai redirects to async.com.

Models inside

Async says credit costs vary by model and resolution, but its pages don't publicly name the image or video models. Voice runs on Async's own low-latency models, also sold through its API.

Pricing and rights

As of September 2026 the free plan gives 1 hour of media uploads and 10 AI credits, both lifetime limits rather than monthly. Recent listings put Essentials at $19.99/month, Pro at $39.99/month (1,200 credits) and Teams at $84.99/month (3,000 credits). Business is custom. Yearly billing saves 40%, for example Essentials at $11.99/month. Monthly credits don't roll over, and top-ups expire. The public pages don't state commercial-use or watermark terms clearly, so check before you publish.

Verdict

Async keeps Podcastle's easy recording and editing and adds a wide set of generation tools. The free plan is a one-off trial, the underlying models aren't disclosed, and the rebrand from a podcast tool to a general AI studio means features and prices are still changing.
