What it is

Buffer MCP is Buffer's official remote Model Context Protocol server at mcp.buffer.com/mcp, launched with Buffer's public API in 2026. It lets an AI assistant read your social channels, browse the queue and drafts, create and edit posts, save ideas and pull post analytics. Posts land in your Buffer queue as drafts or scheduled posts.

How to install

Create a key under Settings > API in Buffer, then add https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY, or sign in with OAuth where the client supports it. Buffer has ready-made guides for Claude and Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex, Cursor, Perplexity, Grok, n8n, Zapier and more.

Pricing and rights

MCP access is included on every Buffer plan, including Free (3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel). Essentials is $5 per channel per month billed annually; annual billing saves 20% versus monthly. Rate limits are shared with the API.
