What it is

Photoroom is a Paris-based AI photo editor built for e-commerce. It removes backgrounds, stages products in AI-generated scenes, puts garments on AI fashion models and batch-processes whole catalogs. It runs in the browser and on iPhone, iPad and Android, and it offers an enterprise API that the company says handles over 3 million images a day.

Photoroom does not name third-party models on its pricing page. Its tools run on Photoroom's own imaging models, and nothing further is documented there.

Pricing and rights

As of September 2026: Pro costs $12.99 a month ($7.50 billed yearly) with 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports a month. Max costs $34.99 ($20.99 yearly) with 25,000 credits and 3,000 exports. Ultra costs $99 ($82.50 yearly) with 75,000 credits, 10,000 exports, 4K image and video resolution, and the Video Generator. Enterprise has custom credits. The credit pool is shared across a Space and renews each billing cycle. Export limits apply to images up to 2K. Pro and Max do not include the Video Generator or 4K. You can start for free and trial paid plans. API and MCP use have their own separate allowance.

Online sellers, marketplace merchants and fashion or retail teams who need clean, consistent product photos at volume without a studio.

Verdict

Photoroom is a specialist that does product photos very well, with strong batch and API options. Export caps and credit pools add up for large catalogs, the Video Generator and 4K sit only in the $99 Ultra plan, and it is not a general design tool.
