What is Gamma?
What it is
Gamma is an AI presentation, document and web-page builder from San Francisco. You type a prompt, paste notes or import a file and it generates a designed, card-based deck you can edit, present, share as a link or export. It also builds simple websites and social graphics, and it offers an API for generating decks programmatically.
Key features
- Generate decks, documents and one-page sites from a prompt, outline or file
- Card-based editor with themes, layouts and AI rewrites
- AI image generation with dozens of selectable models, priced in credits
- Export to PDF and PowerPoint, share via link, custom domains on Pro and Ultra
- Analytics on shared gammas
- API access on Pro, Ultra, Teams and Business plans
Models inside
Gamma's API reference lists the image models you can pick: FLUX (1 Pro, 2 Pro/Flex/Max, Kontext), GPT Image 1/2 and DALL-E 3, Google's Gemini image models (Nano Banana, incl. Gemini 3 Pro Image), Ideogram 3, Recraft v3/v4, Luma Photon and Leonardo Phoenix. Standard models cost 2-15 credits per image and Ultra models 115-125. Gamma does not document which text model writes the slides.
Pricing and rights
Free gives 400 one-time credits that do not refresh, decks of up to 10 cards and a "Made with Gamma" badge. Plus (1,000 credits a month) removes the badge and unlocks better image models; Pro (4,000 credits) adds API access, analytics and custom domains; Ultra (20,000 credits) adds premium image models and Studio Mode. Billing is per member; annual plans save 28% and credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount. Gamma's pricing page blocked our checker and its help centre gives no dollar figures, so price_from is left empty; third-party trackers report Plus from roughly $9-$10 per seat per month.
Who it is for
Founders, teachers, consultants and marketers who need a good-looking deck or one-pager fast and do not want to design slides by hand.
Verdict
Gamma is the easiest way to go from notes to a polished, shareable deck, with a wide choice of image models. The free plan is a one-time taste with a badge, credits go quickly with premium images, and the card format does not always export cleanly to PowerPoint.
Pros
- Fast, attractive decks from a prompt or document
- Large choice of image models
- API on Pro and above
- Shareable web links with analytics
Cons
- Free credits are one-time and exports carry a badge
- Per-member billing adds up for teams
- Premium image models burn credits fast
- PowerPoint export can need clean-up
